    Jean Anyon has been a very significant educational reformer with a strong concentration on social class and education.
 
    Jonathan Kozol is a very influential educational thinker and has, through various publications, questioned the effects of class on education and the funding gap that exists.  This links to a few important excerpts from two of his most influential books, Savage Inequalities and Shame of a Nation.
 
    It is both a textual and online publication. It puts together many classroom narratives with ideas on how to use social justice issues in combination with academic content to create a more just world.
 
    Horace Mann was an important figure in the creation of the public school system in the United States.  He believed a universal school system, funded by local property taxes, was the way to provide social stability and equality.
 
    John Dewey was a philosopher and an important educational reformer in the 20th Century.  He had a large influence on the progressive movement of education and helped educational theory become more child focused.
